Curtains Up: Mauldin Cultural Center Opens Registration for 2026 Summer Theatre Camps

April 14, 2026

With the school year winding down, the Mauldin Cultural Center is preparing to trade textbooks for scripts. The center has officially opened registration for its highly anticipated 2026 Summer Theatre Camps, offering local youth a chance to take center stage through a variety of intensive performing arts programs.

While the “early-bird” registration window has officially closed, city officials confirmed this week that spots remain available across all three camp categories, though they are expected to fill quickly as the summer season approaches.

A Summer of Performance

The 2026 lineup is tailored to different age groups and experience levels, ranging from theatrical newcomers to seasoned young performers:

  • Broadway Beginner (June 1 – June 5): Designed for ages 6–11, this one-week camp introduces younger children to the fundamentals of musical theatre in a high-energy, supportive environment.

  • Leading Player (June 1 – June 12): This two-week intensive is geared toward older students (ages 12–17), focusing on advanced performance techniques, character development, and stagecraft.

  • Disney’s The Lion King Jr. (July 6 – July 18): Serving students from 5th through 12th grade, this performance-based camp culminates in a production of the beloved Disney classic. This two-week program offers an immersive “rehearsal-to-stage” experience.

Investing in the Arts

The Mauldin Cultural Center continues to serve as a cornerstone for the local arts community, providing accessible educational opportunities that go beyond the stage.

“Summer is the perfect time for students to explore their creativity and build confidence,” the Center shared in a community update. “Our theatre camps are designed to challenge students while fostering a lifelong love for the performing arts.”

How to Register

Parents and guardians are encouraged to secure spots soon to ensure participation in their preferred sessions. Detailed descriptions of each camp, including daily schedules and final performance dates, are available on the Center’s digital portal.
