Dame Cooking Demo: The Story of Rice in the Lowcountry -Monday, April 25

WHO: The Charleston Chapter of Les Dames D’Escoffier (LDEI), a worldwide philanthropic society of professional women leaders in the fields of food, fine beverage and hospitality, is hosting a virtual event showcasing the significance of rice in the Lowcountry and how to cook a local favorite dish that incorporates it.

WHAT: Participants are invited to attend a live discussion on the deep and rich history of rice in the Lowcountry. Dame Amethyst Ganaway will demonstrate how to make shrimp purloo with a shared recipe for attendees to cook along or make later. A Q&A session will follow.

Tickets are $15 and will benefit scholarships for women in hospitality.
