January 24, 2025

Chernoff Newman, a leading integrated communications agency, announces the promotion of David Campbell to Chief Executive Officer. With a proven track record of operational excellence and a decades-long commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation, Campbell’s elevation to CEO signals an exciting new chapter for the agency.

Campbell previously served as Chernoff Newman’s Chief Operating Officer, overseeing business operations across all offices and driving strategic growth through mergers, acquisitions and succession planning. His leadership has been instrumental in aligning the agency’s vision and delivering impactful results for clients.

Campbell’s career is marked by an ability to drive both operational efficiency and creativity. Prior to joining Chernoff Newman, he honed his business acumen at Fannie Mae, where he managed investor marketing and mortgage-backed securities trading, and at the Federal Savings & Loan Insurance Corporation, serving as a financial analyst.

He is also a dedicated volunteer and community leader, lending his expertise to numerous boards and organizations. He is the current national chair of the American Advertising Awards Committee for the American Advertising Federation (AAF) and is a past chair of AAF’s Council of Governors. He has served in various leadership roles for state and local entities, including commission chair for the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs, trustee for the Richland County Public Library and vice chair of the Richland County 250 committee.

A strong advocate for education, history and the arts, Campbell balances his professional and philanthropic endeavors with a love of music, judging barbecue competitions and exploring history. He holds a BA from Mississippi State University and an MBA from George Washington University, and he began his academic journey studying geology at Florida State University on a swimming scholarship.

“My time at Chernoff Newman has been an incredible journey, and I am honored to take on the role of CEO, guiding our exceptional team members across all markets,” said Campbell. “I look forward to continuing to build on the agency’s legacy of strategic insight, creativity and longstanding client partnerships.”

Under Campbell’s leadership, Chernoff Newman will continue to drive forward with its mission of delivering “Work that matters,” through integrated solutions that connect brands with audiences in meaningful ways.
