David Koysza to Participate in Leadership Greenville Class 38

July 18, 2011

GREENVILLE, SC – July 18, 2011 – Wyche has a long history of serving the Greenville community and many of its attorneys have honed their leadership skills by participating in Leadership Greenville, a program designed and facilitated by the Greenville Chamber to help develop informed, committed and qualified leaders for Greenville County. David Koysza is the eleventh Wyche attorney chosen to participate in the program since its inception in 1973 and will join Class 38 this August.

“I am honored and excited to participate in Leadership Greenville because I feel Greenville is, hands down, the best place to live, work, and raise a family and I want to be actively engaged in keeping it that way – and, if possible, making it even better,” said Koysza.

Participants in the program are selected through a competitive application process based upon their past involvement in the community and their ability to set and achieve high personal goals. Koysza is a natural fit for the program. Since he moved to Greenville in 2006, he has been actively involved in the community, serving as Chair of the Downtown Symphony Club, Founder and Chair of the Symphony’s Vivacé Society for young donors, Board Member of Fall for Greenville, Chair of the Legal Division for the United Way’s campaign, Deacon at First Presbyterian Church, and Coach for the Furman University Mock Trial Program.

Koysza has also made a big impact practicing law at Wyche and was named a shareholder of the firm after just four years. He practices Business Litigation and Commercial Bankruptcy, representing companies in cases that range from bet-the-company lawsuits with hundreds of millions at issue to emotionally charged disputes over a few thousand dollars. Before joining Wyche, Koysza was an attorney with the U.S. Solicitor General in Washington, D.C., where he practiced Supreme Court litigation, and he was a law clerk for Chief Judge William W. Wilkins of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Duke Law School and a magna cum laude graduate of Furman University. In 2009, Greenville Magazine named him one of Greenville’s “Best and Brightest 35 and Under.”
