David McCormack Named To TCHRMA Board as General Counsel

CHARLESTON, SC – December 14, 2011 – Womble Carlyle attorney David McCormack has been named to the Tri County Human Resource Management Association Board and will serve as General Counsel.

The Association is the Charleston area affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management, the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. Representing more than 250,000 members in more than140 countries, the Society serves the needs of HR professionals and advances the interests of the HR profession.

McCormack was sworn in at the board’s Dec. 13th meeting.

David McCormack is a labor and employment attorney who has represented employers in state and federal courts and before state and federal agencies for more than 25 years. He has litigated a variety of employment-related matters, including wrongful termination claims, employment discrimination claims and claims involving non-competition/trade secret agreements. McCormack also provides extensive advisory and counseling services in such areas as employment contracts, employee handbooks, restrictive covenants, family and medical leave, disability law requirements, and sexual and other unlawful harassment. He practices in Womble Carlyle’s Charleston office.
