David Tribble announces his run for re election to Laurens County Council District 7

February 27, 2024

David Tribble, Jr has announced that he is seeking reelection to the Laurens County Council District 7 seat that he currently holds.

David Trible is the owner of David Tribble Health Funding. LLC in Clinton.  He is a graduate of Presbyterian College and was named PC’s Outstanding Young Alumnus.  Tribble earned a Master of Public Administration Degree, the professional degree of city managers and county administrators, from Clemson University.  Tribble also served in the State House of Representatives and on the Laurens County Hospital Board.  He will be serving as Clinton’s Rotary Club President beginning this summer.  David is married to Dr. Leta Tribble who is the Education Director at the Greenwood Genetic Center.

In his campaign announcement Tribble said, “First comes prosperity. Without jobs, without profitable enterprises, without some population growth, there are less successful schools, weaker churches and less able charities. Our first order of business in the last term of Council was to expand the funding of our economic development efforts. The additional investment allowed for some land purchases, some staff development, some marketing enhancements and some utility expansion. The result has been the greatest year of economic development in Laurens County history.”

Tribble continued, “My second initiative was to change the management of the county to become more responsive to the needs of Laurens County and to create a service environment worthy of our able staff. We did that with changes at the top. Our changes achieved that purpose.”

“We are happy for the growth of our sister communities, Fountain Inn and Gray Court,” Tribble said. “But, we want Clinton and Joanna to participate fully, even lead, the Laurens County growth effort.” In his first efforts on this term of Council, Tribble relied on his experience on Council previously and his time as Clinton’s Mayor, to seek key committee assignments as a Council representative to the Laurens County Economic Development Board and to the Upper Savannah Council of Governments Board. “These are responsibilities capable of advancing our funding and economic development priorities,” said Tribble.

Tribble concluded, “I want to lift our people, every single one. We are about to see the best years that Laurens County has ever had! I would love to be a part of it again.”
