Deadline approaches for 2020 Ethel Bolden Minority Fellowship

June 19, 2020

The Richland Library Friends and Foundation wants to send a friendly reminder about the upcoming deadline for the 2020 Ethel Bolden Minority Fellowship. Applications are due by Wednesday, July 1.

A printable form is available at richlandlibrary.com, which details specific eligibility and application requirements. Interested applicants can either postmark or email the required documents. Any inquiries, regarding submissions, can be directed to Al Wright, Talent Development Coordinator, at [email protected].

The annual award, which was originally established in 2010, is undergoing a revitalization to bolster academic achievements. Formerly a scholarship, the 2020 Ethel Bolden Minority Fellowship now extends its financial reach outside Richland County to include students who attend any university or college in South Carolina.

The $3,500 fellowship encourages and provides support to students from underserved and underrepresented ethnic and racial groups who are working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree. They must also express an interest in working at Richland Library.

The Ethel Bolden Minority Fellowship aims to recognize Mrs. Ethel Bolden’s years of service to the Richland County community and its libraries.
