Deadline Extended for 2013 Small Business Award Nominations

COLUMBIA, SC – January 9, 2013 – The U.S. Small BusinessAdministration has extended the nomination deadline for the 2013 smallbusiness awards through Thursday, January 31. The SBA South CarolinaDistrict Office is accepting nominations for the following awards:
    •    Small Business Person of the Year,
    •    Small Business Exporter of the Year,
    •    South Carolina Young Entrepreneur of the Year,
    •    South Carolina Family Business of the Year,
    •    South Carolina Minority Small Business Advocate of the Year,
    •    South Carolina Veteran Entrepreneurship Advocate of the Year, and
    •    South Carolina Women in Business Advocate of the Year.

SouthCarolina award winners will be notified in March and announced in earlyApril. SBA will honor the state’s award winners at the 2013 Salute toSmall Business on May 23 in Columbia. In addition, the winner of theSmall Business Person of the Year award will represent South Carolina atthe SBA’s 2013 Small Business Week celebration in Washington, D.C.
