Debra Pendleton-Smith named Senior Vice President for SCBT

ORANGEBURG, SC  – South Carolina Bank and Trust announced today that Debra Pendleton-Smith has been named senior vice president.

“This promotion is well-deserved by Debby.  Her leadership and expertise are an asset to our company,” said Rodney Overby, executive vice president and chief information officer. 

Since joining SCBT in 2001, Pendleton-Smith designed and implemented the customer care center.  Since its creation, the SCBT customer care center has migrated from a incoming call center to a multi-media contact center handling over 1,800 calls per day.  These calls range from routine customer questions to more complex web-based questions.  In addition to the call center, she also manages SCBT’s website, www.SCBTonline.com, the corporate intranet, and all on-line banking services. 

A native of Boston, Pendleton-Smith is a graduate of the Massachusetts Bankers School in New Bedford and the Institute of Financial Education in Columbia, SC. 

Pendleton-Smith resides in Swansea with her husband Kevin Smith.  She has a son, Richard C. Drengberg, Jr. of Hollywood, California and a daughter Lorraine J. Kellerman of Tucson, Arizona.  She is the daughter of Evelyn M. Pendleton and the late Richard A. Pendleton, Sr. of Brockton, Massachusetts.

An active member of the community, Pendleton-Smith is a member of the Incoming Calls Management Institute and the Purple Martin Conservation Association.   She is also a licensed amateur radio operator, Technician class and is an avid gardener.
