Denmark Tech, Morris College partnership creates new pathways to bachelor’s degrees

Denmark Technical College and Morris College have entered into an academic articulation agreement designed to make it easier for students to transfer credits, build on credentials they’ve earned and continue their education at either institution.
Among the most significant opportunities are specific transfer pathways in cybersecurity and criminal justice. Students who complete Denmark Tech’s certificate in cybersecurity may transfer into Morris College’s Bachelor of Science program in cybersecurity, while students earning an Associate of Applied Science in criminal justice technology have a pathway toward Morris College’s Bachelor of Science program in criminal justice. Students must meet applicable admission and program requirements.
“This partnership is about giving students more options and removing barriers between where they begin their education and where they ultimately want to go,” said Eric Brown. Ph.D., president and CEO of Denmark Technical College. “Our students should be able to build on the work they have already completed and see a clear pathway from a technical college credential to a bachelor’s degree. Working with Morris College allows us to strengthen that pathway while keeping student success at the center.”
The partnership also provides broader opportunities for Denmark Tech students. Students who earn an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree from Denmark Tech and meet Morris College admission requirements will have satisfied general education requirements and enter Morris College with junior standing. Students completing certificate and diploma programs are also eligible for transfer admission and evaluation of their credits toward applicable undergraduate programs.
“Today’s agreement establishes a pathway for students to continue their matriculation to meaningful careers,” remarked Said Sewell, Ph.D., president and CEO of Morris College. “By creating stronger connections between our institutions, we can give students a clearer path to continue their education, build on the credentials they have earned and ultimately reach their academic and professional goals.”
The agreement also allows Morris College students to pursue certificate, associate degree or diploma programs at Denmark Tech, making the partnership a two-way pathway for students at both institutions. The colleges will collaborate on course transfers, advising and recruitment and will evaluate the partnership every two years.
By connecting technical credentials with opportunities for continued education, the partnership gives students more ways to move forward without losing sight of the work they have already completed, whether their next step is a bachelor’s degree, a technical credential or preparation for a career.
