Diaper Drive Thru is scheduled for Tuesday, April 9, in Laurens.

April 3, 2024

The Diaper Drive Thru is a recurring monthly event that alternates between Clinton and Laurens. The primary objective is to assist as many families as possible by providing essential baby items such as diapers and wipes.

This month’s drive will be hosted at the parking lot of Wattsville Drug at 24 Sirrine Street in Laurens from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This central location ensures easy access for families from various neighborhoods.

Seeking Donations

To meet the increasing demand, there is a need for a higher volume of diaper donations. Those willing to contribute can support by purchasing packs of diapers, with larger sizes and pull-ups being the most requested items, during their next shopping trip. Donations can be dropped off at designated locations:

  • Sanitary Market in Laurens
  • Sadler Hughes Apothecary in Clinton
  • Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices C. Dan Joyner Realtors in Clinton

Participant Requirements

To ensure assistance reaches those genuinely in need, parents or guardians seeking help at the Diaper Drive Thru must present appropriate identification to verify their circumstances. Verification documents may include a copy of the parent or guardian’s photo ID, along with supporting documentation proving custody or birth. Eligible forms of verification include birth certificates, WIC or Medicaid cards for the child, foster care or custody paperwork, and daycare or school IDs. Each family is eligible to receive one pack of diapers and wipes per child, with a maximum of two children per household. Identification is only required the first time.

Collaboration with Carolina Pregnancy Center

In addition to providing diapers and wipes, the Diaper Drive Thru collaborates with the Carolina Pregnancy Center (CPC) from Spartanburg. CPC’s mobile unit will be present at the event, offering free pregnancy testing and ultrasounds as needed. This collaboration significantly enhances the event’s impact, providing comprehensive support to families facing challenges.

Making a difference, one diaper at a time.
