Dina G. Boorda joins Robinson McFadden

COLUMBIA, SC – October 19, 2009 – Dina G. Boorda has joined Robinson, McFadden & Moore, P.C. as Of Counsel in its Columbia, South Carolina office.  Ms. Boorda concentrates her practice in business and commercial transactions, secured transactions, commercial real estate, foreclosures, liquidations, work-outs and bankruptcy.  Her practice also includes commercial and other civil litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Boorda specialized in business and commercial finance, including government lending through the United States Small Business Administration 7(a) and 504 lending programs and was granted certification by the National Association of Development Companies (NADCO).  Ms. Boorda has counseled lenders on the closing, disbursement, and liquidation of guaranty loans.  She provided creditors with foreclosure and bankruptcy representation.  Ms. Boorda also served as a staff attorney in the South Carolina District Office of the United States Small Business Administration and served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney under special appointment of the Department of Justice, District of South Carolina.

Ms. Boorda was also a Trial Attorney with the General Counsel’s Office of Litigation, United States Navy, Arlington, Virginia.  She represented the USN in contract litigation matters.  She participated as a panelist and speaker at a litigation (CLE) seminar on the topic of Effective Communication with Experts in Complex Litigation.

Ms. Boorda received her B.A. from the University of South Carolina in 1989 and her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1992.  She was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1992 and admitted to the United States District Court, District of South Carolina in 1994.  She is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association, and Richland County Bar.

Ms. Boorda is an active member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church and serves several ministries.  She is an appointed voting board member of the Institutional Review Board at the Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia.
