District 56 Announces eLearning for Eastside Elementary School

January 12, 2022

Another impact of Covid-19 hits Laurens County with the announcement from Laurens School District 56 that Eastside Elementary School has moved to eLearning for the remainder of the week.

In a statement published on social media the district reports that Eastside Elementary School “has reached a critical point where we are unable to maintain regular school operations safely due to the percentage of staff members either isolating or quarantining for COVID with almost 40% of staff members absent.”

The goal is for the Eastside to return to regular in-person learning on Tuesday. All schools will be closed on Monday, January 17th for the Martin Luther King holiday.
