District Five Offers Golden Passes To Senior Citizens

August 6, 2014

IRMO, SC – Lexington-Richland School District Five is encouraging senior citizens to be involved and active in district-sponsored events and activities.

District Five is again offering Golden Passes to residents who will be 60-years-old or older during the

2014-2015 school year. The permanent photo identification card provides free admission into most athletic and cultural arts events in District Five, excluding playoff games. Last year, nearly 200 individuals were issued District Five Golden Passes.

Superintendent Dr. Stephen Hefner said, “The Golden Pass program is a great way to bring community members of all ages together and to say thank you to our senior community for volunteering and supporting our schools. Our students love having community members attend school events and activities, and I hope that we have lots of participation this year.”

Passes will be issued on Thursday, Aug. 28 and Friday, Aug. 29 between 9 a.m. and 12 noon at the district administration building, which is located at 1020 Dutch Fork Road in Irmo. Golden Passes are lifetime passes and do not need to be renewed.
