District Five to hold teacher recruitment fair

January 31, 2015

IRMO, SC – Lexington-Richland School District Five will hold its 2015 Teacher Recruitment Fair on Feb. 7 to give jobseekers an opportunity to learn more about schools and services in the district and talk one-on-one with administrators.

More than 300 people have pre-registered for the event, which will be held at Irmo Middle School from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Nearly 400 jobseekers attended last year’s District Five Teacher Recruitment Fair.

“It’s a fun event, but it’s serious business too because we are serious about getting the best teachers to teach the students in District Five,” said Winnie Brown, Interim Chief Human Resource Officer for the district. “Jobseekers will get an opportunity to speak to principals, staff in human resources and teachers who attend the fair. The event also gives school staff an opportunity to see the best candidates out there. It’s an event we look forward to each year.”

Brown said vacancies for the upcoming school year will vary. Jobseekers attending the district’s Teacher Recruitment Fair are asked to bring several copies of their resume. Pre-registration for the event is available through Feb. 3 by completing the form on the district’s website (www.lexrich5.org).
