District opens five new facilities for 2020-20221 school year

August 31, 2020
Charleston County School District (CCSD) will open the doors to five new facilities on September 8, 2020, when students begin the school year.
The Camp Road Middle School, C.E. Williams Middle School-South, Cooper River Center for Advanced Studies, District 4 Regional Stadium, and Lucy Beckham High School are all projects funded by a “Yes” vote of the Charleston Education Capital Improvements Sales and Use Tax Referendum of 2014.
COVID-19 has forced the teams building our new schools to overcome some unique challenges. The internal and external partnerships between the design team, general contractors, subcontractors, CCSD staff, and others were the keys to these successful projects.
