District promotes Stoy to PMS Title I project administrator

During the November 15, 2016 regular monthly meeting of the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees, the board approved the promotion of Allyson Richards Stoy to Title I project administrator at Pelion Middle School.

Stoy currently serves as Lead Interventionist and Instructional Coach at PMS and 21st Century Community Learning Center program director and site coordinator for the programs at Forts Pond Elementary, Pelion Elementary and Pelion Middle.

Stoy began her career in 2007 teaching English language arts at Chapin Middle School in School District Five of Lexington and Richland Counties. She joined Lexington District One’s Gilbert Middle School as an English language arts teacher in 2008.

After joining PMS as instructional coach in 2014, Stoy took over as 21st Century Community Learning Center program director in 2015. Her duties in that role include managing more than $500,000 in federal funds that support extended school day programs, managing and hiring staff, handling student discipline, and coordinating instructional needs. During her career, she also successfully obtained an additional $491,000 in local, state and federal grant funds for schools.

Stoy holds a Bachelor of Arts in middle level education from the South Carolina Honors College at the University of South Carolina and a Masters of Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina.
