Doctors Care, a Division of UCI Medical Affiliates, Inc., Sponsors Record-Breaking Drive Against Prostate Cancer

COLUMBIA, SC November 14, 2007 – What does a thirty-nine foot Airstream Land Yacht have to do with reducing death from prostate cancer? For more than 800 midlands’ men last month, it was a quick and easy way to assess their risk for the disease.

The Drive Against Prostate Cancer is the only national mobile screening and education program for prostate cancer. Doctors Care and WIS-TV sponsored The Drive in the midlands and exceeded all expectations by breaking the national daily screening record of 375 with 458 screenings. Over the two days of the event, Doctors Care completed 808 screenings.

According to Dr. Michael Stout, UCI Medical Affiliates, Inc. President and CEO, “More men die from prostate cancer than any other cancer with the exception of lung cancer. Doctors Care was pleased to bring The Drive Against Prostate Cancer to the midlands in partnership with WIS-TV. Every man over 50 should have an annual screening.”
