Dollar General Helps CHA Families For The Holidays

December 22, 2014

COLUMBIA, SC – The Dollar General Foundation will be giving away over 1000 toys to children in the Latimer Manor and Gonzales Gardens on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2014.  The event will begin at 9am in each location.  “There are approximately 600 families living in these neighborhoods and this tremendous gift will make Christmas possible for many families that may not have been able to provide one for their children”, said CHA Executive Director Gilbert Walker.

The CHA oversees almost 5,000 conventional public housing units and rental assistance contracts throughout Richland County.  The CHA is the third oldest housing authority in the nation and has continuously been recognized by HUD for its successful housing and education programs.
