Dorchester County partners host first Critical Infrastructure Summit for the county
March 7, 2025Dorchester County Emergency Management and the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office hosted the first-ever Critical Infrastructure Summit in the county. The summit brought together key public and private sector stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and enhance the security and resilience of critical infrastructure in the county.
“This symposium is the first step in our overall goal of creating a robust Critical Infrastructure Protection Program here in Dorchester County, that will assist county government, municipalities and the business community to become safer and more resilient to threats,” said Dorchester County Director of Emergency Management Thomas McNeal.
“By harnessing the resources and expertise of both public and private sector partners, both within and beyond government, we can significantly enhance the well-being of Dorchester County’s citizens,” said Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office Chief Stephen Young. “Through collaboration, we will establish a comprehensive Critical Infrastructure Protection Program that equips Dorchester County to effectively address a wide range of potential future threats.”
At the summit, business leaders, infrastructure operators, emergency managers, and public safety professionals gained valuable information on current threat landscapes, risk mitigation strategies, and available federal and state resources.
