Dorn VA Medical Center (UPDATE)

October 6, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC – The leadership and staff at the Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in an effort to ensure patient health and safety have decided to cancel all outpatient clinic appointments scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 6.

All patients who have Tuesday appointments should receive an automated call tonight. If you have any questions,  please call the Dorn VA Call Center at (803) 647-5826 (in Columbia) or (888) 651-2683 (outside of Columbia).

Additionally, all scheduled outpatient appointments for the Sumter Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) have also been cancelled for Tuesday, Oct. 6.

CBOCs in Anderson, Florence, Greenville, Orangeburg, Rock Hall and Spartanburg will be open during their regularly scheduled hours of operation. Veterans should make arrangements to arrive on time to their appointments. If road conditions are unsafe, Veterans are asked to contact their clinics to reschedule their appointments.

Employees: All employees are to report at their regularly scheduled tour of duty with the exception of Sumter Community-Based Outpatient Clinic staff.

As always, Dorn employees are expected to report for work, but at the same time use individual best judgment when it comes to current weather and flooding conditions. If unable to make it to work, employees should contact their supervisor. Sumter CBOC staff should contact their supervisor for updates.

We continue to strive to keep our Veterans safety and healthcare in mind. Veterans with appointments Tuesday, October 6, at Dorn VAMC and the Sumter CBOC will be contacted via a recorded message.
