Doubletree by Hilton Columbia employee named Regional Hospitality Employee of the Year

Thelma Seibles (“Ms. Jean”) from Doubletree by Hilton Columbia has been honored with the Hospitality Employee of the Year (HEY) Award for the Capital City/Lake Murray Country Region. Recognizing her exceptional dedication and service to visitors, Ms. Jean stood out as a shining example of hospitality excellence.
The South Carolina Association of Tourism Regions (SCATR) HEY Award is designed to highlight front-line staff who go above and beyond in their roles and celebrates individuals like Ms. Jean who consistently deliver outstanding service and positively represent their company and the state of South Carolina.
“I just love it! I love people,” says Ms. Jean. “I used to work in a factory, but I love working with people. My sister-in-law encouraged me to apply for a hotel job. I asked her what I would do. She said, ‘You love to run your mouth and you love people.’ That was over 20 years ago, and I have worked in guest service ever since.”
As the regional winner, Ms. Jean advances to compete for the statewide title. Her commitment to providing memorable experiences for guests makes her a deserving candidate for this prestigious recognition.
