Dr. Geoffrey E. Hayden appointed to MUSC Board of Visitors

CHARLESTON, SC – March 3, 2011 –  Dr. Geoffrey E. Hayden has been appointed to the Medical University of South Carolina Board of Visitors. Members are nominated by the trustees of the university and serve as ambassadors in their respective regions. Dr. Hayden was appointed by Dr. Cotesworth P. Fishburne, Jr.

Dr. Hayden is currently with Roper Emergency Physicians, staffing the Emergency Departments of Roper Downtown, Northwoods, and the new Mount Pleasant Hospital.  He is also Vice President of Good/Works Global, a 501C3 organization that uses a web-based approach to link innovative health care non-profits with donors and volunteers.

Dr. Hayden earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Virginia Medical School.  He was Chief Resident at Vanderbilt University and also did his Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Hayden is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, American Academy of Emergency Medicine and the South Carolina Medical Association.

Dr. Hayden is married to the former Mary Fishburne.
