Dr. George Bailey Named Ob Hospitalist Group’s Physician of the Year

February 4, 2015

GREENVILLE, SC – Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG), the largest dedicated OB/GYN hospitalist provider in the nation, announced their Physician of the Year for 2014 today. Dr. George Bailey has received this honor in recognition of his commitment to OBHG’s core values and embracing their vision of elevating the standard of women’s healthcare.

OBHG was founded on the sincere belief that every expectant mother presenting to the hospital should receive timely, consistent, unconditional, quality medical care by a highly-skilled, Board Certified OB/GYN. Dr. Bailey’s passion for that mission is evident to every patient he serves as an OBHG hospitalist at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital (YVMH) in Yakima, WA.

“He works hard, is dedicated to our philosophy and has been recognized by his peers as a leader,” said Dr. Mike White, OBHG West Coast Medical Director of Operations. “He is well respected and continues to endear himself to the nurses, his peers and administration. Being named OB Department Chair after just one year is a testament to his value.”

OBHG Regional Vice President of Operations, Elizabeth Yanko echoes Dr. Bailey’s significant contributions, “From the very first day of the program at YVMH in July 2013, Dr. George Bailey established a standard of close collaboration with nurses, physicians, colleagues and hospital administration. In addition to being recognized for his excellent clinical and leadership skills at the hospital, he is a true champion of the patients he cares for.”

While honored today by Ob Hospitalist Group, his greatest accolades come from his peers at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, “Dr. George Bailey has done superb job as the lead OB/GYN hospitalist at YVMH. He initiated the program and through his efforts, has developed a team of top notch specialists who have dramatically improved the care of our OB patients,” remarked Dr. Roger Rowles. “He has emphasized safety and effective communication, as has served as a mentor and educator for nurses, students and residents. He is unflappable in the busiest of times, and maintains his good humor throughout. We all have significant improvement in our quality of life and sleep patterns, knowing he or one of his colleagues is taking care of our patients.”
