Driggers Named to SC Bar’s Young Lawyers Leadership Academy

HARTSVILLE, SC – May 2, 2008 – Martin Driggers, Jr., partner in Sweeny, Wingate & Barrow, P.A.’s Hartsville office, has been named to the South Carolina Bar’s inaugural Leadership Academy, a part of its Young Lawyers Division.

The Academy was designed to educate lawyers who have practiced less than seven years. It is an effort by the Bar to encourage young lawyers to be leaders in their profession and communities.

Driggers is managing shareholder of Sweeny, Wingate & Barrow’s Pee Dee office. He is a native of Hartsville and is licensed to practice law in both North Carolina and South Carolina. He also actively serves on the healthcare committee of the S.C. Bar, is a member of the Darlington County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, S.C. Defense Trial Attorneys Association, Lawyers for Civil Justice South Carolina Expert Evidence Initiative, and the Christian Legal Society. He also has been certified by the South Carolina Attorney General’s office as a pro bono special prosecutor of criminal domestic violence cases in Lee, Florence, Darlington, Marlboro, and Chesterfield counties.
