East Cooper Medical Center Volunteers to Donate $10,000 to Local Charities

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC – January 11, 2010 – On Friday, January 28 at 10:00 a.m. in the first floor classroom of East Cooper Medical Center, the Volunteer Services Organization at East Cooper Medical Center (VSO) will present $1,000 checks to the following charities for a total of $10,000. 

The local organizations that will be benefit and be present to accept their donation are:

  • Crisis Ministries
  • Christian Medical Clinic at St. Andrews Episcopal Church
  • My Sisters House
  • East Cooper Community Outreach
  • Darkness to Light
  • Windwood Farm Home for Children
  • Lowcountry Orphan Relief
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Eagle Harbor Home for Boys
  • Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy

The members of the VSO voted at their annual banquet to donate this money to these deserving organizations.  Each of the organizations below will be present for the formal presentation.  The VSO is a non-profit organization with 121 members. The Gift Shop at the hospital is completely run by the VSO and all money made from the sale of items in the gift shop goes to fund scholarships for students going into the medical field, fund medications for patients in needs and to deserving charities.
