'Eat, Drink and Give Local' Invites Young Professionals to Learn about Philanthropy

May 9, 2013

Central Carolina Community Foundation, a nonprofit organization serving 11 counties in the Midlands by helping charitable individuals and businesses meet the needs of our community, will wrap up its 2013 Food & Wine Series by giving Midlands young professionals a taste of philanthropy.

The event, called Eat, Drink & Give Local, will take place from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the First Citizens Courtyard at 1230 Main Street in downtown Columbia.

At Eat, Drink & Give Local, guests will enjoy food, beverages and music from DJ GLDFNGR while learning more about how local charities are helping to make the Midlands a better place to live, work and play.

The evening will feature a fun way for guests to better understand how the Foundation works. Each attendee will participate in helping to decide to what organization the Community Foundation will award a $2,500 grant at the end of the evening.

The event will include tasting tables featuring craft beers and wines in addition to tasty offerings from 2108 State Street Bar & Grill, Jimmy John’s, Let’s Cook Culinary Studio, Spotted Salamander Catering, Thirsty Fellow and more.

Tickets are only $30 and may be purchased through May 22 at www.yourfoundation.org. Guests must be at least 21 years of age to attend. All proceeds assist the Community Foundation in awarding grants to nonprofits in the Midlands.
