EDVENTURE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM – In January, EdVenture is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 12 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.  The museum is open New Year’s Day and Monday, Jan. 19 for Martin Luther King Day.  Admission is $6.95 for children 12 and younger, $8.95 for adults and free for children under one.  Find a complete list of activities at www.edventure.org or by calling 803-779-3100.

EXHIBITS

Chagall for Children at EdVenture, through January 4, 2009
Children can create mosaics, weave tapestries, paint with touch screen technology and conduct symphonies in EdVenture’s exhibit, “Chagall for Children.”  After you tour the exhibit, visit one of the easels in the Studio at Art Alley for make-and-take painting activities.

Snowville at EdVenture, through March 1, 2009
Enter a make-believe world of imaginative play when you visit a seven-foot polar bear in the North Pole, learn about the penguins of the South Pole, get creative in an igloo-building activity and Discover more about the science of snow and ice during our interactive winter show, “Brrr!” presented daily at 2 p.m.  Snowville is sponsored by WIS-TV and AT&T, The Real Yellow Pages.

From Here to Timbuktu: A Journey Through West Africa, At EdVenture Through March 1, 2009
From Here to Timbuktu takes visitors on a journey through West Africa’s spectacular and diverse geographic regions.  Along the way children are immersed in an adventure of discovery as they learn about the rhythm of West African life.
