Edventure Children's Museum Promotes Three Employees and Hires Five

COLUMBIA, SC – July 31, 2008 – EdVenture Children’s Museum is pleased to announce the promotion of three employees and the addition of five new employees to its staff in the areas of education, marketing and development. 

src=img/Susan_Bonk_picture_r_2.jpgSusan Bonk has joined EdVenture as Director of Education and Exhibits.  Bonk previously served as the Director of Education for the Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norfolk, Conn.  In her new position, Bonk is responsible for leading the creation, planning and execution of all museum experiences.  She also ensures that EdVenture’s programs meet all of the audience’s needs, as well as working directly with exhibit development. 

src=img/Greg_Nagel_Picture_r_2.jpgGreg Nagel has joined EdVenture as the Director of Museum Experiences.  Nagel was previously the Programs Manager at The Florida Aquarium in Tampa.  He is now responsible for managing the Guest Services Department and ensuring that museum visitors receive the highest quality museum experiences and customer service.  He also manages the Exhibit Department and the marketing, lease and sales of the museum’s outgoing traveling exhibit program.

Nikki Williams Manning has been named Director of Educational Leadership.  She previously held the position of Early Childhood and Outreach Manager at EdVenture. 

Jennifer Suber has been named Director of Marketing at EdVenture.  Suber previously served as Director of Development. 

Margaret Wallace has been named Director of Development.  Wallace was previously Director of Marketing for the museum. 

Ashlee Buchanan has joined EdVenture as School and Group Programs Manager.  Buchanan previously served as an eighth grade science teacher at Lexington Middle School in Lexington School District One.   

Kerry Johnston has joined EdVenture as Creative Director.  Johnston previously worked as freelance marketing employee primarily for Galaxie Design, Inc.  She also performed freelance work for EdVenture before becoming a fulltime employee. 

Paula Thayer has joined EdVenture as the Assistant to the CEO. 

Memorial Day through Labor Day, EdVenture is open seven days a week: Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $6.95 for children, $8.95 for adults and children one and under are admitted free.  EdVenture Children’s Museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring children to experience the joy of learning.
