Edwin McCain to headline Rock 4 Recovery concert presented by Dominion Energy

June 7, 2021

With a recording legacy that includes two of the biggest love songs in the history of pop music, Edwin McCain is going to Rock 4 Recovery this September when he returns to the Midlands for the LRADAC Foundation’s 7th annual fundraising event presented by Dominion Energy. All proceeds from this alcohol-free concert will help raise awareness about the power and healing of recovery from substance misuse and help support persons in financial distress so they can fully participate in recovery services for themselves and their families.

Called the “great American romantic” by the New York Times, Edwin McCain has built a storied career over the past 20 years by balancing his massive pop success with a year-round touring schedule. Originally scheduled for last year’s Rock 4 Recovery that was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, McCain graciously rescheduled his performance for 2021. Opening for McCain will be one of his frequent collaborators, singer-songwriter Maia Sharp. In addition to performing her original music, Nashville-based Sharp has produced work for McCain and has also had her songs recorded by such top acts as Bonnie Raitt, Trisha Yearwood, and Cher.

Rock 4 Recovery will take place Friday, September 24, 2021, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Icehouse Amphitheater, located at 107 W Main St, Lexington, SC 29072. Tickets are $25 and will be available for sale on June 7 at rock4recovery21.eventbrite.com.

With the success of the Rock 4 Recovery Concert in 2019 and the support of our generous donors, we allocated more than $66,872 over the past two years to help families and individuals enter recovery who were unable to do so on their own because of a lack of insurance or an inability to pay,” said Amy Reeves, LRADAC Foundation Chair. “With the enormous increase of substance misuse cases in South Carolina associated with COVID-19, we expect recovery assistance requests to be even higher this year. Because of the amazing support of Edwin McCain and our presenting sponsor Dominion Energy—who both regularly prove their commitment to community—we will be able to support even more people on their road to recovery.

“We’re proud to support this event that allows the LRADAC Foundation to continue its very important work of providing specialized care to members of our community when they take courageous steps on their journey to recovery,” said Rodney Blevins, president of Dominion Energy South Carolina.
