Elizabeth Tucker named Deputy City Administrator of Georgetown
May 6, 2026Mayor Jay Doyle today announced that the City of Georgetown has hired Elizabeth Tucker to serve as its new Deputy City Administrator. She assumed her duties effective May 4.
Tucker brings many years of planning experience to the city, having most recently served as MPO Program Director for the Waccamaw Regional Council of Government. She also adds valuable institutional knowledge to the role, having previously worked for the City of Georgetown as Director of Building and Planning, and earlier in her career served as a Planner I.
She holds a master’s degree in public administration and has completed specialized training through the American Institute of Certified Planners and UAB Drone. She is also a licensed Certified Floodplain Manager.
“Elizabeth’s experience at both the regional and municipal levels make her an outstanding addition to our leadership team,” said Mayor Doyle. “Her familiarity with Georgetown and her strong background in planning and development will be a tremendous asset as we continue to serve our community.”
City Administrator Scott Whittier said Tucker’s experience and leadership will be an asset and play an important role in advancing the city’s future.
As Deputy City Administrator, Tucker will assist with the day-to-day operations of the City and support strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing services and guiding future growth.
