Elliott Davis, LLC Principal Speaks at South Carolina Healthcare Managers Association's (SCHMA) Fall Workshop

GREENVILLE, SC – October 14, 2008 – Elliott Davis, LLC, one of the Southeast’s largest accounting and business advisory firms, announced that firm Principal Ira Bedenbaugh recently appeared as a guest speaker at the Aiken Chapter of the South Carolina Healthcare Managers Association’s fall workshop – “Botox for Your Brain.”
The workshop was held Oct. 8, 2008 at the USCA Conference Center, located in the USC Aiken campus’ Business and Education building. Bedenbaugh addressed an audience of more than 25 healthcare managers with a presentation titled, “Uh Oh – The Suits Are Here?” The presentation helped office managers understand the risk management issues in a medical office and effective techniques in addressing those issues.
Additional speakers included: Ann Elliott, leadership strategist with The Berkana Company, LLC; Aiken Mayor Fred Cavanaugh; Darrell Coven, director of business development and finance with Palmetto Health; Regina W. Hitchcock, director of governmental affairs with the South Carolina Medical Association; and Steven Simmons, director of account management workforce and business development division for Aiken Technical College.
As the leader of Elliott Davis’s medical practices group, Bedenbaugh focuses on helping physician practices and hospitals improve how they manage short and long-term financial and operational challenges. His responsibilities include analyzing physician practice infrastructure, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing workflow processes and technologies that increase business performance and address government compliance issues.
Bedenbaugh served previously as a principal of Protime LLC, a medical management consulting firm, and the practice administrator of The Family Healthcare Center. Bedenbaugh earned a bachelor’s degree in financial management and a master’s degree in business administration from Clemson University. He is a former member and past president of the Rotary Club of Laurens, S.C.; former board member and past treasurer of the United Way of Laurens County; former board member of the Laurens Chamber of Commerce and a former board member of Senior Options, also in Laurens.
