Embrace the Harvest Spirit: The Third Annual Fall Festival at LushAcres Farm!
October 4, 2023LushAcres Farm is abuzz with excitement as they gear up for the highly anticipated Third Annual Fall Festival and Corn Maze.
This community-oriented event, proudly sponsored by Thornwell, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving children and families in need across Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, promises a day of family-friendly fun and wholesome activities, all while supporting a great cause.
Mark your calendars, as this extravaganza is set to take place every Saturday in October, starting from October 7th, running from 10 am to 5 pm. The farm, nestled in Thornwell, invites everyone to join in and celebrate the fall season.
The theme for this year’s Fall Festival is “Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food,” a powerful reminder of the importance of connecting with local farmers and understanding the journey our food takes from the farm to the table. It encourages us to appreciate the hard work and dedication that goes into cultivating the food we consume.
Jacob Koch, Farm Director, expressed his enthusiasm about this year’s theme, stating, “In today’s fast-paced world, it is easy to lose touch with the origins of our food and the people who work tirelessly to cultivate it. The ‘Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food’ theme serves as a reminder of the importance of connecting with local farmers and understanding the journey our food takes from farm to table.”
New additions this year include a gem mining station, where attendees can mine for real gems, and an improved corn pit, where visitors can enjoy playing in knee-deep corn. Plus, there’s an opportunity to unleash your inner sharpshooter with corn cannons and savor fresh popcorn and delicious donuts.
Attendees will enjoy a plethora of activities, from hayrides, bonfires, and s’mores to a mini train, concessions, and much more. Furthermore, the festival will host one-day-only options on Saturdays in October, such as dog herding demonstrations, an artisan village, and trunk-or-treat on October 28th.
LushAcres Farm is dedicated to blending agriculture with family fun to support Thornwell’s ongoing mission. Throughout the year, the farm acts as an agrotourism hub, offering locally grown products, livestock experiences, and family-focused agritourism events. The LushAcres Farm Market, featuring farm-fresh produce and locally sourced goods, is an extension of their commitment to promoting local agriculture.
Jacob Koch highlighted the dual purpose of the Fall Festival: “When families come to a festival, buy a locally sourced product in our market, or visit our barnyard animals, they are creating lasting memories and traditions, as well as ensuring the children and families Thornwell serves are supported and loved.”
For the admission price $10 per person at the gate (children 2 and under are free), attendees can enjoy a range of activities such as the corn maze, barnyard animal encounters, hayrides, face painting, a playground, ga-ga ball, mini-corn maze, barnyard basketball, mini-train rides, inflatables, a brand new upgraded corn pit, photo opportunities, and live music and special events.
For those looking to enhance their experience, optional activities include animal feeding for $1, corn cannons for $5, and gem mining with small and large bucket options at $20 and $50 respectively.
Foodies and shoppers will delight in the offerings at the event, with food trucks, the farm market, pumpkin patches, and a mums garden adding to the festivities.
And let’s not forget the special events on specific Saturdays throughout October. Live music performances, arts and crafts shows, animal sanctuary displays, car cruise-ins, and trunk-or-treat events promise something for everyone.
The Third Annual Fall Festival at LushAcres Farm is not only a celebration of the harvest season but also a chance to support a cause that strives to make a positive difference in the lives of children and families. So, come one, come all, and embrace the harvest spirit at LushAcres Farm this fall!
