Embracing Resilience: Laurens County Cancer Association Launches
February 11, 2024In a heartfelt effort to nurture a sense of community and support, the Laurens County Cancer Association recently re-initiated their ongoing support group series, titled “Living with Cancer.” The event served as a platform for cancer survivors, patients, and their caretakers to exchange stories of strength, resilience, and hope, fostering an environment where mutual support thrived.
A turnout of 22 individuals marked the success of the first “Living with Cancer” support group session. Attendees shared their personal journeys but also lifted the spirits of others facing similar challenges. The event marked the first such in-person event since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Anna Miller, Executive Director of the Laurens County Cancer Association, expressed her enthusiasm about the success of the support group session and the significance of the community coming together. She said, “The ‘Living with Cancer’ support group is more than just a meeting; it’s a space where individuals facing the challenges of cancer can find strength and understanding in one another. After a prolonged period of isolation, this gathering shows the resilience and unity within our community of fighters.”
The Laurens County Cancer Association invites those affected by cancer to join the next support group meeting scheduled for March 14 at 5:30 PM. The gathering will take place at 1337 Medical Ridge Road in Clinton.
