The South Carolina Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics is expanding its impact in 2026, reaching more than 13,000 students and teachers statewide through its nationally recognized residential high school, virtual engineering programs, summer camps and STEM outreach initiatives. A new $500,000 grant from Google will help launch an innovative AI Teacher Institute, positioning GSSM at the forefront of exploring how artificial intelligence can enhance teaching and learning. Under the leadership of President Danny Dorsel, a member of GSSM’s charter class, the school continues to prepare South Carolina’s next generation of STEM leaders while helping educators adapt to the rapidly changing future of education.
