Kim Smith, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Health Evolve Technologies, LLC
Pregnancy can become a perfect storm. Women are entering pregnancy with cardiometabolic risk factors and existing the postpartum period with the breadcrumbs of maternal morbidity. At Health Evolve we build patient-centered, community-powered technologies at the intersection of care and culture–where real change happens.
Kim Smith is a sought-after speaker, author, and the Founder & CEO of Health Evolve Technologies with 18 years of executive leadership experience in top healthcare systems—including Duke Medicine, Tenet Healthcare, and MUSC Health. Kim’s passion for maternal health equity is deeply personal – shaped by her own experience with HELLP Syndrome and the growing maternal mortality and morbidity rates. In 2023, she launched Health Evolve with a unique strategy to address these gaps. Her team has developed “Lauren”, a digital platform designed to support women’s heart health and stress management from conception through postpartum care.
Health Evolve’s digital solution, Lauren, helps birthing women manage their heart health, diabetes, and stress with the support of a digital care team. This health at home model includes remote patient monitoring, a self-monitoring device, personalized health education and an active community to foster collective wellbeing.
