EPC Power opens new Fountain Inn manufacturing facility, plans 275 new jobs
July 16, 2026EPC Power has opened a new 167,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Fountain Inn that will nearly triple the company’s U.S. production capacity as demand grows for power systems supporting artificial intelligence data centers, energy storage and electric grid infrastructure.
The new facility, located at 111 Southcase Boulevard, will manufacture EPC Power’s M and M(RACK) series power inverters, equipment designed to help AI data centers and utility-scale energy projects manage increasing power demands while improving grid reliability.
The company said the expansion is expected to create 275 new jobs in South Carolina and significantly increase domestic manufacturing capacity for critical power electronics.
“Our expansion in South Carolina is a direct response to the AI infrastructure investment and power demands we’re seeing worldwide,” said Jim Fusaro, chief executive officer of EPC Power. “By tripling our capacity, we’re giving data center and utility operators access to more critical components domestically, which de-risks their expansion plans and strengthens supply chain resilience.”
Once fully operational later this month, the Fountain Inn facility will provide 27 gigawatts of annual production capacity, with the ability to expand to 40 gigawatts annually as demand increases.
The investment comes as utilities and technology companies across the country work to expand electrical infrastructure needed to support the rapid growth of artificial intelligence computing. AI data centers require substantially more electricity than traditional data centers, driving increased demand for advanced power conversion equipment and grid modernization technologies.
EPC Power designs and manufactures utility-scale inverters used in battery energy storage systems, renewable energy projects and high-demand industrial applications. The company said increasing its U.S. manufacturing footprint will help customers reduce supply chain risks while meeting growing energy infrastructure needs.
The new production facility also strengthens South Carolina’s advanced manufacturing sector, which continues to attract investments from companies serving the energy, automotive and technology industries. The Upstate has become a hub for advanced manufacturing, supported by a skilled workforce, transportation infrastructure and proximity to major markets throughout the Southeast.
Company officials said the Fountain Inn operation represents a long-term investment in domestic manufacturing and positions EPC Power to meet growing customer demand as the nation’s energy infrastructure evolves.
The new facility is now open, with production expected to ramp up throughout the coming weeks as additional manufacturing lines come online.
