Evan Guthrie Law Firm Visits Law Education Class At Fort Dorchester High School In North Charleston SC

CHARLESTON, SC – June 11, 2012 – Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina stopped in to visit and speak to the law education class at Fort Dorchester High School in North Charleston SC on Wednesday April 25th 2012. The law education class focuses on the basics of the legal system in it curriculum as students learn about how the different parts of the system work and interact with each other. The class is enhanced by guest speakers like Mr. Guthrie that come in and talk with the students. This was the second time that Mr. Guthrie visited the class at Fort Dorchester as he visited the class in the previous semester with different students.  Attorney Evan Guthrie spoke to two different sections of the class over the course of the day.

Mr. Guthrie explained his background, how he decided to become a lawyer, the process of going to college and law school, the steps to passing the bar and getting sworn in, developing a law practice, and the day to day aspects of being an attorney. Attorney Guthrie spoke for the entire length of both class periods and answered questions from the students that ranged to the most difficult thing about being a lawyer to how a lawyer get paid in different cases and in different circumstances.

The students asked a good number of quality questions and were interested and engaged throughout the class. Mr. Guthrie enjoyed his visit and the chance to represent the legal profession and contribute to the education of the students. Attorney Guthrie visits many schools throughout the year and looks forward to being able to come back and speak at Fort Dorchester again to future law education classes.
