Exhibit explores trauma among black women

An exhibit of photographic prints and a site-specific installation that explores the effects of psychological trauma and physical movement among black women opens this week at UofSC’s McMaster Gallery. “The Space Between,” a solo exhibition showcasing art by multi-disciplinary artist Michaela Pilar Brown, runs through Feb. 5. As a part of the exhibition, Brown will present will present “Mother Wound,” a live performance that explores the genetic memory of trauma. The performance and the exhibition reception are at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 21.
