Exhibitors flock to Southern Women’s Show in hopes of reaching desirable target market

September 12, 2016

This fall, the Lowcountry will host the Southern Women’s Show, a three-day event dedicated to celebrating women throughout the community. From local entrepreneurs to national organizations, the event will feature more than 300 exhibitors interested in reaching one of the world’s most lucrative target audiences: women.

“Women account for 85 percent of all consumer purchases including everything from auto to healthcare,” said Stacy Abernethy, the executive show manager for both the Nashville and Charleston shows. “This event gives businesses the opportunity to reach the women who make up one of the most desirable markets right now.”

Exhibitor space is still available, but extremely limited. Current exhibitors for the Charleston show include local businesses such as Charleston Shoe Co. Charleston Specialty Foods and Guy Photography, as well as Etsy entrepreneurs like Creativity Happens and Angie D. Designs. National brands such as Mary Kay, Rodan+Fields and ABC News will have exhibits, too.

There will also be special celebrity appearances, including Val Chmerkovskiy from “Dancing with the Stars,” as well as fashion shows, cooking demonstrations and contests hosted throughout the weekend by Millie Lewis, Pet Helpers and Food Lion.

One of the main show sponsors, Chevrolet, will also be hosting a ‘Ride and Drive,’ event, where attendees can test-drive the latest models and receive free gifts. Additionally, AAA and Carnival Cruise Line are coming together to give away a 7-day Caribbean Cruise for two at the show.

Limited exhibit space is still available for the show, which will be held at the Charleston Area Convention Center fromSeptember 23 to 25. Businesses interested in participating are encouraged to call 800-849-0248 for details.

Tickets are $12 at the door, $10 online at SouthernWomensShow.com and $8 at area Walgreens. Hours for the show are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
