Extension for low-income senior citizens applying for the South Carolina Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program $25 vouchers through SC DSS

What: SC DSS has extended the deadline to Monday, June 1 for low-income senior citizens living in the participating counties listed below to apply to receive $25 worth of vouchers to buy fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables from authorized farmers this summer.
How to Qualify:
• Must be a low-income senior aged 60 or older
• Have a valid driver’s license or state issued ID (must be presented to pick up)
• Live in a participating county
When: Visit dss.sc.gov to complete an online application by Monday, June 1. Vouchers will be distributed at a later date and used this summer.
Who: Senior citizens in these participating counties: Abbeville, Aiken, Allendale, Anderson, Beaufort, Berkeley, Calhoun, Charleston, Cherokee, Chester, Chesterfield, Clarendon, Colleton, Darlington, Dillon, Dorchester, Edgefield, Fairfield, Florence, Georgetown, Greenville, Greenwood, Hampton, Horry, Jasper, Kershaw, Lancaster, Lee, Lexington, Marion, Marlboro, McCormick, Oconee, Orangeburg, Pickens, Richland, Saluda, Spartanburg, Sumter, Union, Williamsburg, York.
