Ezekiel Ministries appoints new Executive Director to lead next chapter of growth and impact
June 2, 2025Ezekiel Ministries, a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to mentoring youth in the Midlands, announced the appointment of Christian Markle as its new Executive Director, effective June 9.
Founded in 2009, Ezekiel Ministries partners with local churches to recruit Christian mentors who make long-term investments in children’s lives. Through after-school programs, one-to-one community-based mentoring, the organization aims to strengthen families and transform communities by nurturing the spiritual, academic, and social development of children.
Markle brings nearly a decade of leadership experience in serving marginalized communities and advancing mission-driven development, having held key roles at organizations like Healthy Learners and Oliver Gospel Mission. With a deep passion for equipping Christians to live out gospel-centered discipleship, he is well positioned to lead Ezekiel Ministries into its next chapter of growth and impact—mobilizing a community united around the vision of seeing young people grow, learn, and thrive through long-term, life-giving relationships.
“We are thrilled to welcome Christian Markle to the team,” said Casey Goodrich, Board Chair of Ezekiel Ministries. “He brings a depth of experience, a heart for service, and a clear vision for the future of our work with youth and families in the Midlands. We firmly believe that with his leadership, experience and passion for ministry, the future of Ezekiel Ministries is bright!”
Markle succeeds Josh Whitlock, who founded Ezekiel Ministries in 2009 and has served as Executive Director since its inception. Under his leadership, Ezekiel Ministries has grown to become one of the premier mentoring organizations in South Carolina.
“I’m truly honored to join Ezekiel Ministries and be part of the incredible work God is already doing through this life-changing ministry,” said Markle. “I can’t wait to come alongside our amazing team, partners, supporters, and the families we serve to help one more child flourish through the love and guidance of a caring mentor from our local church communities.”
