FAC to present third annual Dancing With the Stars fundraiser

CAMDEN, SC — The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) invites you for an evening of dance and entertainment at its third annual presentation of Dancing With the Stars! A FUNdraiser for the FAC, the event is slated for Saturday, September 19, with a cocktail hour beginning at 7:00 p.m. and the performance starting at 8:00 p.m. Tickets to the fundraiser are $40. The event is sponsored by McDonald’s of Camden/Sensor Enterprises. Appetizers for the cocktail hour will be provided by The Decadent Dish. Bryant Herring, FAC Technical Director will serve as producer of the event this year.

This one-of-kind kind fundraising performance will benefit the programs and services of the Fine Arts Center as it enters into its 41st season of bringing the arts to Kershaw County. The one-night extravaganza will feature 9 local “stars” paired with 9 dance professionals as they compete for the coveted People’s Choice and Judges’ Technical Award Winner trophies. Each couple will perform one dance number, followed by a short critique by the judges. Additional entertainment for the evening will be provided by local actors, dancers and vocalists.

This year’s teams include Ben Connell and Joy Dewitt, Larry DiBiase and Chelsea Kelly, Johnny Kornegay and Alexis Kelley, Jeremy Murphy and Erin Haynes, Georgia Patoulas and Andy Wright, Scott Rankin and Julianna Cobb, Kate Stines and Tracy Steele, Cecil Truesdale and Ginny Marshall, and Ed Yount and Deanna Patterson Cobb. • How to vote
Fans may vote for the People’s Choice Award winner by making a donation in the name of their favorite couple online, in person at the FAC Box Office, or on the evening of the event. One dollar equals one vote, and the couple with the most votes at the end of the evening will be crowned the People’s Choice winner. The Judges’ Technical Award will be given to the couple awarded the most points by a panel of professional judges. Technical Award winners will take home the classic “Mirror Ball” trophy.
