Fairway Subaru chooses Ronald McDonald House Charities® of the Carolinas for annual Share the Love® Event

Fairway Subaru announces it has chosen Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) of the Carolinas for its annual Share the Love® Event this holiday season. From November 14, 2019 to January 2, 2020, Fairway Subaru will donate $250 to RMHC of the Carolinas for every new Subaru car purchased or leased by customers.
“Ronald McDonald House does tremendously important work in our Upstate community, and we are thrilled to support their mission,” said Foster McKissick IV, President of Fairway Subaru. “The Share the Love event really gives customers the opportunity to support a local cause in the community they live in and help others during the holiday season. The work Ronald McDonald House does by keeping families close to their sick children is so critically important.”
The House, located on Grove Road, opened in 1989 with the help of many volunteers and generous benefactors. Since that time it has served close to 13,000 families keeping them close to their critically ill or injured child receiving treatment at a nearby medical facility. Families come from all over South Carolina, its bordering states, and even internationally to receive specialized care here in the Upstate. There is no set length of stay, it is all dependent on how long the child receives treatment. Some families stay one or two nights, some stay over 200 nights.
“We honored to have been chosen by Fairway Subaru for this amazing event,” said Marti Spencer, CEO/Executive Director. “It is through local companies like Fairway Subaru, that we are able to offer a home of hope for hundreds of families each year, keeping them close to their sick child.”
On June 21, 2018, the House opened a 17,000 sq. foot expansion adding an additional 12 guestrooms, a larger kitchen, extra common areas, more laundry services and an expanded guest check in. Today, RMHC® of the Carolinas graciously welcomes and serves 24 families at a time offering them all of life’s essentials so they can solely focus on the needs of their child.
