Fall Favorite – Smokin’ on the Rails and Rhythm on the Rails Happening in Clinton this Weekend

October 19, 2022

A favorite event for Fall takes place this weekend in downtown Clinton.

The annual Smokin’ on the Rails Southern BBQ Network Competition will start on Friday, October 21 and continue through the night of Saturday, October 22.  Rhythm on the Rails will take place on Saturday from 10 am to 10 pm.

Bring the family and join friends Friday night to enjoy some great BBQ and then rest up for a full day of fun and entertainment (and more barbeque) at Rhythm on the Rails (ROR) on Saturday.

In addition to great barbeque, ROR will have other food vendors, arts and crafts, free rides, and music.  The morning will start with free rides beginning at 10 am and continuing throughout the day until 8 pm.  Food, art, and craft vendors will be open 10 am with a variety that is sure to have something for everyone so make that holiday shopping list and get started. The Laurens County Cruisers will also be at ROR with their great collection of classic cars.

Bring a lawn chair for a great afternoon and evening of music.  Music will kick off at noon on the Clinton Newberry Natural Gas Authority Music Stage with Dazr.  Dazr is an American rock band from Clemson, SC.  Their influences are 70’s and 80’s rock bands such as Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Rush, Aerosmith, and more! After rocking out, cool down with the sweet music of your Scottish and Irish Heritage with Wild Blue Yonder at 3 PM.  Wild Blue Yonder is from the hills of the British Isles to the peaks of the Appalachians, music of the mountains has traveled through hearts, hands, and miles over centuries. Wild Blue Yonder carries on the tradition with fiddle, whistles, old-time banjo, mandolin, and warm harmony vocals, bringing fresh voice to ancient melodies. After enjoying the cool mountain tones get down and dirty with R and B,  Phazar Band and Show at 5:45 PM.  Phazar Band and Show performs a variety of 70’s to 90’s R&B.  Come tap your foot or get up and dance with Phazar.  After a trip down memory lane, get your air guitars ready and put on your pin-stripe mustaches for Purple Masquerade at 8:15 PM.  Purple Masquerade is a high-performance celebration of an icon “Prince”. They put on a high-energy concert, performing Prince greatest hits songs.  Have a fun filled day with the City of Clinton.
