Family law attorney Duncan joins Morton & Gettys

ROCK HILL, SC – James D. Duncan, a York County native, has joined Morton & Gettys as an associate. His practice will focus on family law.
Duncan comes to Morton & Gettys after serving a legal clerkship with South Carolina Circuit Judge Daniel D. Hall. Prior to that, he practiced workers’ compensation, personal injury and family law in Rock Hill.
Duncan is a 2004 graduate of Wofford College with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He worked for a number of years in Charleston as a manager of a biomedical research lab before attending law school. He earned his juris doctor at the Charlotte School of Law in 2011.
His practice at Morton & Gettys will include a range of family law areas such as divorce, alimony, child custody and visitation. Duncan, who is licensed to practice in North and South Carolina, also can help draft separation, prenuptial and reconciliation agreements.
Duncan has been a member of the Divine Savior Catholic Church in York since 1982. He’s active in community and professional groups, including two South Carolina Bar committees.
