Amanda S. Mueller, an experienced attorney and skilled litigator, has joined Burnette Shutt & McDaniel.

She brings a multi-faceted practice to the firm’s family law team that represents clients in a wide range of legal issues, including divorce, custody, assisted reproduction, name and gender changes, domestic partnerships, and grandparents’ rights.

Before coming to Burnette Shutt & McDaniel, Mueller worked for over two years at the Columbia office of a national law family firm that primarily focused on representing fathers and men. She’s also a former attorney for the South Carolina Department of Social Services who represented the state in over 1,000 hearings.

“We are thrilled that an attorney with Mandy’s skills, experience, commitment and determination has joined our firm,” said M. Malissa Burnette, a co-founder of the firm who’s practiced family law for 43 years. “She’s a great addition to our family law team.”

A graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law, Mueller has advanced training in family law through the National Family Law Trial Institute in Houston. She serves on the South Carolina Bar Children’s Law and Law Related Education committees, and she was an instructor at the Bar’s Law School for Non-Lawyers.
