Family Shelter Hosts Fifth Annual Blues, Brews & BBQ Benefit, November 7

COLUMBIA, SC – October 2, 2013 – Family Shelter of Columbia will host its Fifth Annual Blues, Brews & BBQ benefit on Thursday, November 7 to support food, shelter and program services offered to homeless families in the Midlands. This year’s event themed “Blues, Brews & BBQ at the River” will be held at Stone River, Columbia’s newest event venue, overlooking the Congaree River in West Columbia.

Attendees will:

•Get down to the live sounds of local favorite BandKamp

•Bid on fabulous Silent Auction items, including tickets to Disney World, lunches with Mayor Steve Benjamin and Sheriff Leon Lott, gift certificates to Famously Hot local businesses and other unique prize packages

•Be in the running to win a new YETI tank cooler! Every attendee will be entered in a drawing for this fabled, party-ready beverage tub (must be present to win).

Established in 1979, Family Shelter is the only emergency shelter in the Midlands where homeless families including fathers can remain together while working toward regaining self-sufficiency.
