Salt-N-Pepa headlined S.C.’s largest, free New Year’s Eve celebration

Tens of thousands of locals and out-of-towners danced in the streets at Famously Hot New Year in downtown Columbia, S.C. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019. The free celebration featured a concert by Salt-N-Pepa — the first female rap act to receive a Grammy and attain platinum status — a midnight countdown and the biggest New Year’s Eve fireworks display in South Carolina over the historic S.C. State House. Learn more about #FHNY at http://www.famouslyhotnewyear.com.

The fun, festival environment was booming with music throughout the evening from Charleston, S.C. locals The High Divers who supported Salt-N-Pepa, and Columbia’s own funky, dynamic Cottontown Soul Society who opened.

Attendees enjoyed a wide array of food from local vendors, beer, wine and bubbly amid downtown Columbia’s vibrant, walkable lifestyle districts.
