Fatz Cafe salutes Veterans and Active Military with free Calabash Chicken on Veterans Day

November 3, 2016

Servicemen and women are invited to enjoy a complimentary World Famous Calabash Chicken® entrée on November 11th

Fatz Cafe will again extend an invitation to all Veterans and Active Military to join them for a free World Famous Calabash Chicken entree on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11th.

“Since the first Fatz opened its doors in 1988, a spirited connection between our associates and our local communities has been at the core of the brand,” said Jim Mazany, President and Chief Executive Officer for Fatz. “We look forward to serving our Veterans with our genuine Southern hospitality on this special day, and thanking each one for their service to our country.”

All Veterans and Active Military will be offered a half pound of all-natural, hand-breaded Calabash Chicken, a Signature Sidekick and choice of soup or salad, with no additional purchase required.

Fatz is also spotlighting some of their crew members who have served in the military on its social media channels. One such “Staff Salutefatz-staff-salute-dustin-brumagin” features Retired Lieutenant Commander (U.S. Navy) Dustin Brumagin, a Cook at the Fatz in Dublin, VA. Dustin’s father, Retired Senior Chief Radioman (U.S. Navy) James Brumagin, has had lunch and dinner at the Dublin Fatz every day for the last seven years, so the Brumagins are longtime members of the Fatz Family.

“Our now annual tradition of serving Veterans our signature dish, World Famous Calabash Chicken, has made Veterans Day one of our most meaningful days of the year.” said Zac Painter, Vice President of Marketing. “And, this Veterans Day, we’re planning on serving 10,000 pounds of Calabash Chicken – a big number, but a small token of appreciation for those who have given so much.”

All 45 Fatz Cafe restaurants will be offering a free World Famous Calabash Chicken entrée to all Veterans and Active Military from 11am to 11pm on Friday, November 11th. To find your local Fatz Cafe location, visit www.fatz.com/locations.
